Day 1
UK

Fly from the UK on board Emirates via Dubai. or another carrier that suits your travel plans best

Day 2
Cochin

On arrival in Cochin you will be met by a Transindus representative and transferred to the beautifully appointed Old Harbour Hotel in Cochin, at the heart of the Old town overlooking Cochin Harbour for two night.

The rest of your day will be at leisure to absorb the atmosphere of the hotel and the harbour.

If you would like. you can enjoy a gentle sunset cruise on Cochin's waterways for views of the Marine Drive, Bolghatty Island as well as the landmark Chinese fishing nets. The orange and pink hues at twilight provide a spectacular photo opportunity.

Day 3
Cochin

This morning, after breakfast your guide and driver will collect you from your hotel for a private sightseeing tour of Fort Cochin.

Fort Cochin's sites reflect a rich and culturally diverse history shaped by periods of Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule. The colonial backstreets of the Old Town reveal its varied heritage, alongside notable landmarks such as the Dutch Palace featuring exquisite Ramayana murals, the Jewish Synagogue, and St Francis Church, recognized as India's oldest church. This blend of architecture and cultural influences tells the story of Fort Cochin's colonial past.

This is followed by a visit to Emakulam, the central business district of Cochin.

Day 4
Cochin, Periyar

Departing Cochin we drive up into the scenic 'Western Ghats' towards Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, stopping en route at a spice garden for lunch.

Day 5
Periyar

This morning, take a relaxed walk through verdant gardens filled with fragrant shrubs and trees, observing the growth, cultivation, and processing of spices. Known as the Cardamom Hills, this area teems with spices such as clove, pepper, cardamom, ginger, mace, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise across Lake Periyar within the national park, the ideal means to glimpse wild elephants. Expect sightings of diverse birds, gaur bison, and possibly the rare tiger if fortune smiles. (Operated by the local tourist authority, this shared boat accommodates up to 25 passengers, not private, with life jackets supplied.)

Day 6
Kumarakom

Descending from the Western Ghats, journey to Kumarakom's backwaters where a boat transfers you to the Backwaters & Beyond resort, overlooking serene waters.

Have the evening at leisure. Enjoy two nights in these peaceful surroundings.

Day 7
Kumarakom

Enjoy a morning motor cruise with a visit to the Bird Sanctuary, followed by an evening motor cruise with a canal tour.

In the popular Bird Sanctuary you'll be spotting migratory species like Siberian storks, egrets, and herons amid lush landscapes. Return for relaxation, then embark on an evening motor cruise exploring narrow canals and traditional village life.

Day 8
Kovalam, Trivandrum

Transfer to the elegant Surya Samudra, Kovalam, for your final two nights, visiting Trivandrum on the way.

Trivandrum is the former colonial name for Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala's capital city renowned for its Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, historic palaces, beaches, and cultural heritage.
