On our tour of Malaysian Borneo venture into some of the world's oldest rainforests, teeming with a wild array of exotic flora and fauna as well as canopy walkways and mysterious cave systems. One of the largest islands in the world, Borneo offers a fantastic combination of nature, culture and beaches.
Start in Kuching, the city of the White Rajas, before journeying to the beautiful surroundings of Sukau. Continue on to Sepilok Orangutan centre where this fascinating creature can be seen up close. After exploring the Kinabatangan River to spot wildlife, travel to Kota Kinabalu, one of the most unique and biologically diverse areas in the world, where there is the opportunity to trek inside Kinabalu National Park before you travel back home.

Fly overnight from the UK to Kuala Lumpur, then on to Kuching in Sarawak.

Greeted on arrival in Kuching and check-in at the Grand Margherita hotel or similar, for two nights. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Cruise on the Santubong River to spot the rare Irrawaddy dolphin. In the afternoon, proceed to the Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to view semi-wild orangutans and a collection of rainforest plants.
Kuching, Sandakan
Take a set of flights to Sandakan this morning and transfer to the Four Points by Sheraton or similar for two nights. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Visit Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to observe the animals at feeding time. Later visit the Sun Bear Conservation Centre and Rainforest Conservation Cente.
Sandakan, Sukau
This morning, drive 2-3 hours, through the countryside, to Sukau. Stay at the Borneo Nature Lodge for two nights. Enjoy an afternoon river cruise to spot wildlife.

Take an early morning river cruise, to spot birds and other wildlife. Take a short jungle walk. An afternoon at leisure followed by an evening river cruise to spot more flora and fauna.
Sukau, Kota Kinabalu
Take the boat or drive back to Sandakan this morning and fly to Kota Kinabalu. Stay at Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort for three nights. Optional upgrade: Shangri-la Tanjung Aru.
