Odisha, East India, India
The Belgadia Palace was built in the 1800s in the Victorian architectural style and adorned with Georgian influences, originally envisioned as a residence for visiting foreign dignitaries and esteemed guests of Mayurbhanj’s royal family. Following the merger of the princely state with the Union of India, it was formally designated a palace in tribute to the royal family, who made it their primary residence after independence.
Nestled in the charming heritage town of Baripada in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, the palace stands as a timeless testament to Kalinga history—reimagining what a hotel can be. Located just 4–5 hours from the state capitals of Odisha, Bengal, and Jharkhand, it offers both accessibility and seclusion.
A tropical Art Deco retreat thoughtfully restored with modern comforts, The Belgadia Palace continues its legacy as a haven for artists while being surrounded by the lush, untamed beauty of the Odia countryside.
