Day 1
Arrival in Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi and enjoy a smooth welcome service through immigration before meeting your representative and transferring into the city. Check in at your boutique hotel and take time to settle after the journey.

Hanoi with a twist

Begin the day at the Temple of Literature, where graceful courtyards, ancient stone steles and tiled roofs reveal Vietnam’s scholarly traditions and the lasting influence of Confucian values.

Pause at a characterful tea house before setting out on foot through narrow lanes, local markets and lively crossroads, gaining an immediate feel for Hanoi’s everyday rhythm. Day 3
Hanoi to Ninh Binh

Leave the city behind and travel south into Ninh Binh, a region of rice paddies, rivers and limestone karsts often described as “Halong Bay on land”.

Visit Hoa Lu, the former capital of Vietnam, where temples honouring the Dinh and Le dynasties sit among low hills and scattered villages. After lunch at a restaurant near Tam Coc, walk to Thai Vi Temple, then continue to Bich Dong Pagoda, a tranquil complex set against a limestone cliff with gateways, shrines and views over the surrounding fields. Ninh Binh to Halong Bay

Day 6
Hue with a twist

Start the day with a gentle boat journey along the Perfume River, passing temples, gardens and traditional houses that reveal Hue’s calm character. Disembark to explore the Citadel.

Explore the Citadel by traditional rickshaw, travelling through broad avenues, quiet backstreets and residential areas enclosed within the old fortified walls. Continue on foot through the Purple Forbidden City, where courtyards, gateways and pavilions evoke the lives of Vietnam’s former emperors.

Return to the nearby village for lunch in a traditional garden house, enjoying local specialities in intimate surroundings. Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City

Transfer to Danang Airport for your flight south to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s dynamic commercial centre.

In the afternoon, explore some of the city’s best known landmarks on foot, including the Central Post Office, Opera House and Cathedral, which reflect earlier chapters in its history.

Day 10
Mekong Delta off the beaten track

Leave Ho Chi Minh City behind and drive into the Mekong Delta, where the landscape flattens into a network of canals, orchards and small riverside communities.

Day 12
Explore Siem Reap

Discover Khmer crafts at Artisans Angkor, wander the Old Market, enjoy a local lunch, then explore the inspiring Angkor National Museum.

Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat

Full day of exploring the iconic Angkor Wat complex.

Set out this morning to explore Angkor Thom, the last great capital of the Khmer Empire. Enter through one of its monumental gates, where lines of sculpted figures appear to tug at the mythical serpent that forms the balustrade. Visit Bayon, known for its many carved faces, and walk past royal terraces where ceremonies once unfolded.

Continue to Ta Prohm, a temple where trees grow through moss covered stones, creating an unforgettable interplay between nature and architecture. After a Khmer set menu lunch, visit Angkor Wat, the vast temple complex admired for its balanced design, symbolic layout and extensive bas reliefs. Day 14
Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

Travel by road across rural Cambodia toward Phnom Penh, passing villages, rice fields and occasional temple silhouettes. Enjoy a Khmer cooking class in the evening.

En route, stop at the 12th century Kampong Kdei Bridge, one of the few remaining corbelled stone arch bridges from the time of King Jayavarman VII, and a striking reminder of the empire’s engineering.

Explore Phnom Penh
