Places Visited : Seoul, Suwon, Andong, Jeonju, Boseong, Suncheon, Busan, Jeju Island

Designed for travellers who like their culture served with flavour, this gently paced journey threads together lively markets, tea-clad hills and breezy coasts. Begin in Seoul, grazing Gwangjang Market and Myeongdong’s stalls (tteokbokki, hotteok), with a nod to kimchi at barbecue—best with a splash of soju and a shared Korean fried chicken. Continue via Suwon and heritage-rich Andong for jjimdak and village traditions, then settle into Jeonju’s hanok lanes for bibimbap and makgeolli tastings.

Drift south to the emerald terraces of Boseong for gentle walks and tea sessions; pause at Suncheon Bay and oyster-loving Tongyeong before the ocean energy of Busan—Jagalchi and Gukje markets by day, seaside cafés by night. Fly to Jeju for volcanic scenery, coastal cycles between roasteries and a final seafood supper. With private transfers, expert guiding where useful, and characterful stays, this is a delicious, unhurried introduction to Korea’s regions—easy to tailor for more hiking, cycling or extra market time.

Remember, this trip can be personalised to suit your travel needs - we can tailor everything from hotel, travel type, duration and more.

Suggested itinerary

Day 1
UK - Seoul

Fly from the UK to Seoul, the South Korean capital.

Day 2
Seoul

On arrival at the airport, you’ll be met by your TransIndus guide and driven to your hotel.

Spend the remainder of the day recovering from your journey, perhaps venturing out around late afternoon for a stroll on the plaza surrounding Seoul Tower.

Day 3
Seoul

Get a taste of the Seoul city buzz - both literally and figuratively - taking in the sights and trying the street food.

Begin exploration of the capital with its dazzling mix of tradition and trend. Dive into Gwangjang Market for mung-bean pancakes and handmade noodles, then roam Myeongdong’s street stalls, tasting tteokbokki, hotteok and skewered fish cakes.

Kimchi (pictured) is the national dish of South Korea, so we recommend trying it while you're out there! Bibimbap (a warm rice dish) is also a local favourite.

Day 4
Seoul

Join locals cycling along the Han River before relaxing in a modern café district where coffee and dessert culture thrives. Evenings bring sizzling barbecue and soju tastings.

The coffee culture in South Korea is palpable as you walk down high streets. With a growing number of boutique cafés and large coffee chains in major cities, coffee consumption is on the rise, especially with the younger generation. There are plenty of options to choose from, see how the taste compares to home.

Day 5
Suwon & Andong

Heritage Tastes to explore.

Travel to Suwon this morning and sample its famed fried chicken before continuing to Andong for its celebrated jjimdak (soy-braised chicken, pictured). Explore Hahoe Folk Village, where recipes echo centuries of culinary tradition.

Day 6
Jeonju

Visit Jeonju - UNESCO City of Gastronomy - a must-see for any South Korean culinary journey.

Stay in the atmospheric Hanok Village, birthplace of bibimbap. Enjoy guided tastings of makgeolli, Korea’s rice wine, paired with pancakes and side dishes.

Day 7
Jeonju

Enjoy another day in Jeonju at a leisurely pace.

Spend some time to wander the city. Street food culture thrives here too — expect dumplings, skewered meats and hand-pulled noodles.

Day 8-9
Boseong

Scenic Tea Terraces & Walks in the green tea capital of South Korea, responsible for roughly 40% of the country's tea production.

Journey into lush Boseong tea country. Hike or stroll through emerald-green plantations, sip delicate green teas, and join a hands-on tea-making workshop. Stay overnight in a rustic guesthouse overlooking the fields.

Day 10
Suncheon & Tongyeong

Coastal flavours in the south.

Pause at Suncheon Bay, then continue to Tongyeong, famed for oysters and seafood. Explore lively harbourside markets filled with seaweed snacks, dried fish and spicy stews.

Day 11-12
Busan

Seafood & Street Energy in Korea's lively southeastern city.

At Jagalchi Fish Market, taste seafood straight off the boat. Browse Gukje Market for hearty comfort dishes and wander Gwangalli Beach, where night-time vendors serve fried squid and fish cakes. End the day at Spa Land or with a coffee overlooking the sea.

Day 13
Jeju Island

Relax and enjoy coffee on the scenic island of Jeju, as you bid Farewell to South Korea.

Cycle between volcanic-soil coffee plantations, sampling single-origin brews. Enjoy one last seafood feast by the ocean before your departure to Seoul and connect with onward back to the UK.
