Day 1
UK

Fly from the UK to Delhi.

Day 2
Delhi

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3
Delhi

This morning take a tour of Old and New Delhi. Afternoon is at leisure.

Day 4
Delhi, Leh

Fly from Delhi to Leh and transfer to Chamba Camp, Thiksey. The rest of the day is at leisure so you can acclimatise to the altitude.

Day 5
Leh

This morning there is the option of a guided bird watching walk with the camp's naturalist or you can spend the time at leisure. After lunch unravel the treasures of the old city on an orientation tour of Leh.

Day 6
Leh

This morning is an early start as you set off to discover the hidden relics of Thiksey monastery. This beautiful monastery houses a two-storey statue of the Maitreya Buddha seated on a lotus and boasts of a spectacular view of the valley. Breakfast is back at the camp and the rest of the morning is at leisure. In the afternoon explore the Hemis Monastery, the oldest monastic institution of Ladakh.

Day 7
Leh

Embark on an exploration of the monastic treasures of Ladakh. Visit the fabled Alchi Monastery, built in the 11th century, and Basgo Fort.

Day 8
Leh

This morning, after breakfast, you will drive a short distance from your camp to witness the traditional fanfare and glamour associated with the game of Polo. This afternoon visit Stok Palace, the residence of the Queen Mother and Prince of Ladakh.

Day 9
Leh

Bid farewell to the land of the lamas and transfer to the airport for a return flight to Delhi. Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 10
Delhi

Day at leisure.

Day 11
Delhi, UK

Transfer to Delhi airport for your return flight to the UK.
