Gareth is a Business Development Manager in the travel industry, with a deep passion for crafting unforgettable journeys. Organised, creative, and driven, he brings years of expertise in operations, product development, and commercial. He has been fortunate to extensively explore Central and South America and Asia, gaining firsthand insight into the cultures and landscapes that inspire his work.

He’s been instrumental in launching new products and touring programmes and finds nothing more rewarding than seeing his brochures proudly displayed on travel agency shelves. He thrives on designing group tours that blend diverse cultural, immersive, and factual experiences—turning travel into a story worth sharing.

Travel High

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to explore incredible places, witnessing cultures, wildlife, and stunning landscapes. One unforgettable experience was reaching Cape Horn. After navigating the infamous Drake Passage, where two vast oceans collide and weather shifts rapidly, our captain gave the green light to board Zodiacs for a landing—success!

The island is home to just four people: the postmaster (also the lighthouse keeper), his wife, and two children. Hiking the island, I realised I was standing on the southernmost land before Antarctica. A photo with the Albatross Monument was a must, but my favourite souvenir is the penguin passport stamp—proof I made it to the end of the world.

Favourite Hotel: Samode Haveli – Jaipur

Arriving at Samode Haveli, I was greeted by a gentleman immaculately dressed in a uniform reminiscent of days gone by—perfectly echoing the history of the palace I was about to stay in. After receiving my room key, a charming bellboy escorted me through a maze of courtyards, cats, and corridors. Around every corner, I discovered unusual furniture, artefacts, and antiques.

Sitting in the public spaces, I found myself imagining the stories and guests that had once filled these rooms. Finally, I sank into my four-poster bed, kicked off my shoes, and lay back thinking, have I arrived at the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel? Hoping to have breakfast with Dame Judi Dench and Dame Maggie Smith.

Travel Tip

Make sure you’ve got the right footwear for the journey ahead. Take your older, well-worn shoes or boots and leave the gleaming new ones at home. On longer trips, it might mean packing an extra pair or two—but it’s worth leaving behind that “just in case” jumper or cardigan to make room.

Just remember: your feet will be doing all the hard work on your adventure. They don’t get a holiday!
