Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and the Tea Country, Sri Lanka
Set in the hills above Nuwara Eliya, Tea Plant Hotel is a charming boutique property with just nine rooms. The spacious rooms overlook Gregory Lake or the tea plantations. They are minimalist in their décor so as not to distract from the incredible views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Each room is individually decorated and reflects Sri Lanka’s tea industry. Choose from Rookwood or Poyston, named after some of the island’s early tea estates or the flagship bedroom James Taylor who was the Englishman who first introduced tea plantations to Ceylon. Each has either a terraced garden or balcony from which you can take in the incredible vistas.
Tea Plant Hotel is a good base for exploring Sri Lanka's hill country and, at the end of the day, an extensive a la carte menu is on offer where meals can be taken in the dining room, in the garden or on the balcony.
