In the morning you take a long tail boat to Champasak for lunch and a tour of the pre Angkorian Vat Phou temple. Board the Vat Phou boat for a relaxing cruise downriver for two nights. Your cruise is a 34-metre converted steel hull barge and has 12 air-conditioned en-suite cabins, a large front deck with a wide-open area for relaxation and a lower deck with an air-conditioned restaurant.

Enjoy watching river life, villages and fishermen and stops at Oum Muong to visit an ancient Khmer sanctuary hidden in the tropical forest. Continue the cruise to the area of '4,000 Islands' and visit a traditional island village.

Cruise around the waters of the ‘4,000 Islands’ and take a small longtail boat to Khone Island, which might allow you a glimpse of the rare Irrawaddy freshwater dolphins. Back to the mainland for lunch followed by a trip by road to the spectacular roaring falls of Khone Phapheng. Return to Pakse in the afternoon. Stay at the tourist grade Residence Sisouk for the night.
