Pench National Park, West India, India
The jeep ride out to Pench may be hard-going in places, but you’ll be comfortable from the minute you set foot in the Tuli Tiger Corridor, where guests are greeted with ice-cool lemon water and a hot face towel. Golf cars whisk you away to your accommodation, whether in one of the luxury cottages or tents.
Both offer an amazing amount of space, and they’re furnished in lavish style with carved-wood four posters, thick curtains and silk drapes. The bathrooms are no less vast, featuring modern claw-foot tubs and doors opening on to little walled terraces where you can enjoy an alfresco shower in complete privacy.
There’s even a fair-sized pool to laze beside during those hot hours of mid-afternoon when the tigers keep to the woods.
