This ten day tour takes in Jordan's major highlights. Soak up the atmosphere of Amman's old city, feel the healing powers of the Dead Sea, explore the desert landscapes of Wadi Rum and Petra, ending your visit with a couple days of relaxation on the Red Sea.

Suggested itinerary

Day 1
Amman

Taking a day flight from London, you will arrive in Amman late in the evening where you will be taken from the airport to your hotel.

Day 2
Amman

Heading north you will visit the Roman city of Jerash, one of the most important and best preserved Roman sites in the area. You will also visit the nearby Roman- Hellenistic ruines of Umm Qais and Ajloun, home to the 12th century ruins of the Islamic Ajloun Castle, before returning to Amman for a City Tour.

Day 3
Amman

Drive south to the mosaic town of Madaba to see the 6th Century map of the Holy land laid out in the floor of the church of St George. Moving on visit Mount Nebo for the views out over the Dead Sea and in to Israel, then later the baptism site of Bethany on the banks of the River Jordan, today one of the most important recent discoveries in biblical archaeology. Continue to your resort on the Dead Sea.

Day 4
Dead Sea

Spend a day at leisure on the Dead Sea

Day 5
Petra

This morning first visit the ruins of Kerak Castle, one of the largest Crusader castles in the area before driving on to Petra.

Day 6
Petra

Spend the day today exploring the ancient carved city of Petra. Your guide will take you through the Siq to the Treasury before leading you through the city to the Roman Theatre, stopping at the various tombs carved into the cliffs and introducing you to the many highlights of the city. Included in the cost of your ticket is the chance to ride a horse from the entrance down through the Siq.

Day 7
Wadi Rum

After a leisurely breakfast you will be driven from Petra to Wadi Rum visiting the sights of Little Petra on the way. At the entrance to Wadi Rum you will transfer to a 4x4 vehicle for your tour of the area. Visit the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, walk through narrow canyons and climb up the large rocks for views of this spectacular area. Tonight you will sleep in a luxury tent in the desert.

Day 8
Aqaba

Wake up in the desert at Wadi Rum and enjoy a leisurely morning at your campsite. Leaving Wadi Rum, we travel to Aqaba where you have the afternoon at your own leisure.

Day 9
Aqaba

Spend the day relaxing in Aqaba.

Day 10
Aqaba - Amman - London

Leaving Aqaba, you will take a short internal flight to Amman and from there, fly home back to London.
