Hemis National Park is the largest national park in South Asia, covering over 4,400 square kilometres. It is a sanctuary of breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife in eastern Ladakh. Situated at an altitude ranging from 3,300 to 6,000 meters, it covers over 4,400 square kilometres. The varied topography of rugged mountains, deep gorges, alpine meadows, and riverine valleys creates a stunning backdrop for its rich biodiversity.

Flora in the Park thrives in its various ecological niches, from alpine pastures to cold deserts. It hosts a range of vegetation, including juniper, birch, and poplar trees, alongside numerous medicinal plants and herbs adapted to the harsh mountainous climate.
