Galle and the South Coast, Sri Lanka
The Last House is a wonderful chic beachside escape, located at the end of Mawella Beach on Sri Lanka’s south coast. It was designed by renowned Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa and was infact his final project. Each of the six bedrooms overlooks the ocean or the lagoon and has a mix of contemporary and antique furniture with splashes of vibrant colours throughout. Couples love the Cinnamon Hill Suite which occupies the upper floor and boasts an iron bath in the centre of the bathroom. Larger family groups can take over the whole property where the Last House staff including a personal chef will be on hand to cater for your needs.
Set in the heart of the tropical gardens there is a swimming pool and nearby is Mulgirigala Buddhist site with its famous cave temples. Nature lovers should head to nearby Rekawa to see the nesting marine turtles.
