Heritance Tea Factory is a unique property set 2kms above sea level. As its name suggests, the hotel was once a working tea factory and you can still see the original tea production machinery as central features around the property. There is still a small tea factory on site where you can create your own blend.
The rooms and suites are decorated in neutral colours so as not to distract from the splendid views. After exploring the plantations you may wish to relax with a visit to the Misty Mountain Spa which offers a variety of treatments including tea-themed rituals.
Kenmare is the main restaurant and was once the sifting room from the tea factory and the original ironworks and girders are still in place. For the ultimate dining experience, then allow us to pre-book an evening at the Railway Carriage Restaurant. The Udupussellawa line was a narrow-gauge railway used for transporting the tea. Whilst the tracks stopped being in use last century, one of the carriages has been preserved to provide a candle-lit dining experience, complete with butler service.
