Explore Sarawak and neighbouring Sabah by road and boat, stay overnight in tribal longhouses, and walk through jungle to spot Bornean wildlife in Sakau. And of course there will be trips to orangutan sanctuaries along the way.

Fly from the UK to Kuching via Kuala Lumpur.
Arrive in Kuching. Stay for 2 nights.
Full day excursion to Bako National Park. This distinct rainforest ecosystem is home to the Proboscis monkey, silvered langurs, long-tailed macaques, wild boar, flying squirrels, monitor lizards and fascinating plant life, including pitcher plants and strangling figs.
Visit the Semenggoh Orangutan Sanctuary before continuing by road and boat up to Lemanak Longhouse. Partake in the Iban tribals’ traditional dance and music and enjoy their ‘rice wine’. Stay at the Longhouse for the night.
Enjoy a blowpipe demonstration and walk around the Longhouse. After lunch continue by road and boat to Batang Ai. Stay in Batang Ai for the night.
Today you will be driven to the ‘pineapple town’ of Sarikei. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this laidback town before continuing to Sibu.
Morning stroll along Malaysia’s longest river - the Rajang. Watch the floating grocery stores that serve the local community. See Old Sibu town and visit Malaysia’s biggest central market. Take a speed boat to Dalat town, past Melanau tribal villages. Continue on to Lamin Dana, an aunthentic Melanau village, where you stay for the night.
In the morning take a boat cruise on the brackish waters of Tellian and Misan rivers. Visit a Sago processing plant and enjoy local delicacies at Mukah market. After lunch continue to Bintulu, stopping at roadside towns en route. Stay in Bintulu for the night.
Visit Niah prehistoric caves, one of the world’s most important archealogical sites at Niah National Park. Continue to Miri to take your flight to Kota Kinabalu where you stay for 2 nights.
Morning at leisure to enjoy the sights of Kota Kinabalu before exploring Kinabalu National Park . Stay outside the park for the night.
Take a guided nature trek in the park. Continue to Poring Hot Springs and take the 41 m high canopy walk. Continue to Sabah Tea Longhouse for the night.
Enjoy a morning sunrise view of Mt Kinabalu and the tea plantations. Continue overland to Sukau stopping at Kg Lunati tagal fish conservation centre. Stay in Sukau for 2 nights.
Early morning boat cruise and jungle walk. Continue to Gomantong Caves, famed for its edible birds nests. Evening boat cruise to spot more wildlife.
Drive overland to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and also visit the Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Later there is a tour of Sandakan city. Stay in Sandakan for the night.
Fly to Kuala Lumpur. Stay for the night.
Board your return flight to the UK, arriving the same evening.
