Sri Lanka    07.06.2019    Amrit Singh

As of 6th June 2019, the FCO Travel Advice for Sri Lanka has been downgraded, to no longer advise against all but essential travel. The full wording of the travel advisory can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/sri-lanka

Effectively re-opening the island for business, this announcement will be of immeasurable benefit to our many partners on the ground – hoteliers, drivers, guides and others in tourism related professions – for whom the sudden curtailment of the holiday season in the wake of the Easter Sunday attacks has proved extremely challenging.

All of them, in tandem with the Sri Lankan authorities and our own government, have worked tirelessly to ensure the future safety of holiday makers, and we’re delighted to be able to re-instate our full programme of both small group and tailor-made tours.

To which end, may we invite you to take a fresh look at our ‘suggested itineraries’ for Sri Lanka, which include some wonderful new boutique hotels and experiences in lesser frequented corners of the island, including a tempting catamaran cruise in the far north, and stays at some heavenly wildlife lodges in leopard and elephant country.

With many hotels having slashed their tariffs recently, our consultants will be able to point you towards some great deals. Whether you’re looking for a late-availability beach holiday over the summer or a tour of the island’s cultural highlights; now is a great time to visit Sri Lanka. Not only will you be helping its population recover from the economic fallout of April's events, you’ll be greeted with the warmest of welcomes.

To find out more about any of the group tours or tailor-made itineraries contact one of our consultants at the TransIndus office London.
