With a total population of 1.3 billion people, India has a big task ahead of it of vaccinating its citizens against covid-19. But India has defied global expectations so far and fared much better than most western nations. The country has also hit the ground running with its vaccination program and its commitment to supply vaccines to neighbouring countries, free of charge. What appeared to be an unmanageable task some months is now well within India's reach. We wish India and its neighbours every success.
