Bandhavgarh National park, North & Central India, India
An enduringly popular and welcoming lodge, Nature Heritage is perfectly situated only five minutes’ drive from the park’s main gates at Tala. Accommodation comes in air-conditioned cottages with individual verandas looking towards the scrub-covered hills in the distance. They’re spacious and cheerfully decorated with colourful block prints, varnished bamboo ceilings and wood floors, and all have nice big bathrooms with running hot water.
One of the joys of the resort is the evening session around the bonfire when the enthusiastic owner-host Raj regales guests with tall tiger stories. Meals, served in a sociable, open-sided dining hall, are copious and delicious, and followed by illustrated lectures from the resident naturalist on the many species you can expect to see on safari the following morning.
Our opinion
Comfortable jungle lodge close to the Tala entrance gate of Bandhavgarh.
