Facing the remarkable profile of the region’s largest monastery, the camp consists of traditional, triple-layered, khaki hunting tents mounted on raised wooden floors. Each has its own bathroom and verandah, and is furnished in retro-colonial-style, with king-sized four poster, writing desks, trunks and lockable safes: you can literally gaze out of the window to the snow fields above the Indus Valley while snuggled under your duvet. The food is gourmet standard, drawing on ingredients from the organic garden on site.
