King’s Lodge is the epitome of modern safari chic. Its creators have hit just the right balance between style, comfort and harmony with the surrounding forest: the cottages are stone built and the honey-hued wood furniture chunky and rustic, with luxurious beds and bathrooms. Each of the dozen or so cottages and stilt houses have deep verandahs with expansive views, while the central dining and lounge area, ranged around a blazing fire, is more sociable. And there’s a very pretty pool to relax in between safaris. The Lodge uses quiet, comfortable Suzuki Jeeps with front-facing elevated seats for safaris.
