Depart from UK on indirect flight to Xian, China.
Arrive in Xian in the morning. Check-in to your hotel, later take a relaxing cycle or walk along the ancient city wall and visit the Muslim quarter and mosque. Stay at The Citadines Hotel for 1 night. Optional dumpling banquet and Tang Dynasty Show.
Today visit the Big Goose Pagoda and the impressive Terracotta Army before taking an overnight train to Beijing.
Arrive in Beijing in the morning. You will visit The Forbidden City & Tian an Men Square. Stay for 1 night at the Bamboo Garden Hotel (a traditional, courtyard hotel in the Hutong area).
Drive to the Simatai section of The Great Wall of China where you will begin a 3 hour hike. Enjoy the sunset on the wall and spend the night at a local guesthouse in Gubei Water Town. (You will leave your Luggage in Beijing and you will need to take a small overnight bag).
Today, you will hike from Simatai to Jinshanling (about 5km) after that you will be driven back to Beijing downtown and return to The Bamboo Garden Hotel for 2 nights.
This morning have some free time to relax. In the afternoon take a rickshaw ride through the Hutong area and visit the Art District of Beijing. This evening have a traditional Peking duck meal. (Optional Hutong cookery class in the morning).
In the morning visit the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. Take an evening flight to Zhangjiajie where you will be met and driven to The Pullman Hotel for 3 nights (in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area).
Today have a full day excursion to the Yuanjiajie area, including the Emperor Mountain (with a cable car ride up), the Imperial Brush Peak, Fairy Maiden Presenting Flowers, Yuan Jiajie (Bai Long Sightseeing Elevator), the First Bridge Under the Sun and Montas Volans.
Today you will visit the National Forest Park and the Golden Whip Stream, both inspirations for the famous film ‘Avatar’. Visit Huangshi Village by cable car.
This morning visit Tianmen Mountain (World’s Longest Cable Car), the suspended glass walkway and 99 Bends mountain road. Also explore Tainmen Cave before returning for your flight to Shanghai. You will be met and transferred to The Astor House for 3 nights.
This morning walk along the famous 'Bund'. Later visit the World Financial Centre for panoramic views of the city. Afternoon continue your sightseeing in Shanghai with a visit to the Yu Gardens and surrounding market area, and a walking tour of Shanghai Old Street.
Today you have the day at leisure to explore Shanghai.
You return back to the UK today. Transfer to the airport with a guide by Maglev.
